Some Things Never Change

Today I was waiting in line at the computer lab at school, and it was getting pretty close to my turn from what I could tell by the crowd. The gentleman behind the counter called, "Tracy," and I caught myself as I was standing up getting ready to say, "Actually, it's Jackie Beth." That would have been slightly on the embarrassing side. I guess I will continue to answer to my mother's name for most of the rest of my life, but she is the coolest so I don't mind too much.

My Sister Makes Up Cool Blog Titles

Dance school is still cool. Learning something new every day. We've been back at the semester for about a week now and have about three weeks left until our February show so we're deep into rehearsals. We had a semi-audition tonight for the April show, so we should find out about that soon.

I went to Winterfest this weekend with the Singing Oaks group and saw about several other neato people and that was fun (especially Max and the Highland kids from home). My favorite part of the weekend was our own pageant in honor of the Miss America Pageant. We dressed up funny, and that was cool and all, but my favorite part was after our "studio audience" returned to their own room the girls nominated each other for "awards" they thought each other should get: "patience," "caring," "positive perseverence," "personalityness," etc. So the last word might not pass in Scrabble, but it was really cool to see them get into it and for them to draw out and encourage each other with the positive quailities they see in each other. Kids are cool, too.

Holiday Favorites

I think I've decided no matter how much I grow up, there is still something inside me that will always be a kid at Christmas time... for instance- building sheets out of tents, who can miss out on that? ...and playing Lego's with six-year-olds... and swimming in an outdoor pool in the middle of winter? I mean come on, you can't pass up on these holiday greats. And, who can forget falling asleep on the couch during movies?
